"Think globally but act locally" "We either act together or perish together"

MR. PHILIP NDURA. (MANAGER)

The international community is in agreement about two facts; 1.That biodiversity is diminishing globally.2. That global warming, climate change and the depletion of the ozone layer are threatening life on this planet. (Refer to kyoto & montreal protocals). According to CITES Kenya is feared to have lost about five plant species and is on the verge of losing many more in the near future. Animals like the Debrazza’s monkeys, Sitatunga antelope are fast disappearing. Our mission as a conservancy therefore is to contribute in a small way towards the conservation of our environment and the country’s biodiversity by targeting the youth and leisure lovers. Our botanical garden and models of houses with eco-roofs place us in a class of our own in conservation while our over twenty genetically disadvantaged animals make our park a special place on this planet. The model on global warming/climate change/ozone layer depletion has been hailed by students and teachers as a unique method of teaching. Foreign travelers who have visited the park acknowledge that they haven’t seen such ideas elsewhere in the world. The biodiversity loss model has fascinated conservationists. It shows how the world is losing its biodiversity through habitat loss. Thousands of students have visited my conservancy and many more are yet to come. The conservancy has been screened on all the national television screens.I’m looking forward to working with any individual or organization which is committed to the conservation of our environment and biodiversity, and those working for the promotion of animal welfare and who have the youth at the centre of their activities.
